shoemaking 101: pump or slingback

is your idea of shoes more bergdorf's than berkeley?this 3-part intensive weekend workshop will teach you how to make your dream pair of fancy pumps or slingbacks a reality. the super footwear designer elizabeth connelly (a graduate of the illustrious cordwainers college in london, no less!) will introduce you to the fundamental principles of hands-on shoemaking plus share her insights as a working designer in the footwear industry. click on the links above for design inspiration: you’ll have the option of a round toe or peep toe, pump or slingback, in leather or fabric. although everything shown is a high heel, you're welcome to create a pair with a low heel or even a flat. bring tears and sketches to the first meeting for discussion. note: class size is very limited. in addition to the cost of your supplies, soling will be done by a professional cobbler after the class (approx. $50 fee.)

one 2-hour design studio/lecture; two 6-hour workshops (14 hours total)
