| making soldered jewelry is easy and safe to do it at home thanks to a blazer torch (aka a creme brulèe torch.) janna will teach you how to use one, and then help you design and fabricate a simple ring. she'll also show you how to create a more advanced second project: a linked chain. no previous jewelry making experience necessary. |

| learn how to form metal wire with jewelry pliers and delicate hammering and string semi precious beads in this one-night only jewelry workshop with deborah stein of bonbonoiseau. to make things easy and fun, we will lend you pliers and create a kit for you which includes metal wire, head pins, sterling silver earwires and enough beads to make at least 2 pairs of earrings in class. plus you'll have the skills to create many, many more! (psst! deborah is also going to bring stuff to sell from her enviable stash!) |

| jewelry design genius deborah stein (the lady behind brooklyn-based bonbonoiseau) will be here to teach her signature "assemblage" moves. learn how to work with basic tools to design and assemble jumprings, find and measure chain, make wire findings and create wearable art by incorporating vintage beads, charms, old jewelry and semi-precious stones. the class will be structured in 2 parts: we'll provide all the supplies you need for the first meeting and hold an in-depth discussion re the supplies required for the second class. the second night will be spent fashioning a finished necklace and/or bracelet for you to wear home or give to a loved one. (psst! deborah will also be selling well-loved items from her stash.) |

ring carving intensive: hard AND soft wax
in this 3-part class you'll learn how to carve soft or hard wax into a model that will be taken to a jewelry caster and cast into a silver band, and then finish it into your own work of wearable art! (soft wax = very organic, very soft material and is excellent for making more sculptural free flowing forms, unachievable with hard wax. additive carving methods are used vs. hard wax = very geometric and hard line. able to attain great detail, and very clean shapes. the subtractive methods of carving is used.) if you'd like to make a ring for a loved one, please come to class with their ring size. note: the project will be a decorative band; no gem stone(s) will be set. wax and tools will be provided for use in the workshop as part of the class fee. |
