learn all the basics of batik, tools and process, from design to
wax painting to dyeing and wax removal with artist amelia parkison
edelman. the project taught during this workshop has been designed
to give you an introduction and a strong foundation in the art of
batik: a one-color handpainted fabric that can either be stapled to
stretcher bars and hung on a wall--it is art, after all--or sewn into
a throw pillow or clothing or quilt, plus the skills and knowledge
necessary to make more complicated projects at home. please bring
images and/or design inspiration for discussion. one 2.5-hour class$150 + minimal supply fee to cover cost of dye, wax + cotton fabric
